Saturday January 21st, 2012 Las Vegas, NV

    Starting out as a way to help friends in local bands get noticed, FiggZillaMusic.com was created to draw more attention to local bands. After managing, promoting, booking and supporting the hard working independent Las Vegas local music scene for 6 years, the stage is set for a huge celebration at the House of Blues Las Vegas inside the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino on January 21st, 2012.

    This 18+ event will feature 6 of the best heavy bands in the Vegas local scene: SUBSTANCE, ILL PATIENTZ, 21 STRONG, SICOCIS, OLD MAN SYNDROME and SHRAPNULL.

    Tickets are only $10 (plus $2 service fee = $12) and will be onsale December 29th through the bands directly, the House of Blues website & box office or any ticketmaster/livenation outlet. 18+ Age limit, and full bar with 21+ ID.

    Contests to win pairs of tickets will kick off on FiggZilla Music's social networks in January. You can also listen to Laurie Steele's Homegrown Show Sunday nights on KOMP 92.3 for your chance to WIN a pair of tickets!

FiggZilla NEWS:

Band of the Month for FEB has been decided and GERBILS V2.0 has won! Visit their profile on our site and listen to them on our Jukebox. The nominations for MARCH has been announced and you can vote daily now for Sector 7G, The Saints and Sinners and Cirka:Sik.

Along with the relaunch of INDEPENDENT STATE with Jonate and Figg, 247RockRadio.com will also give us an online radio show! "FiggZilla Music Live" will cover the bands who have profiles on our site, gigs on our concert calendar, topics in our forums, and resources to help bands! If you have a profile on our site, please email us your EPK to figgzillamusic@gmail.com to be added to our playlist when we launch on MARCH 1st!

To support our radio show ventures, we have created a RADIO page and tab on our site. That way bands can easily get links to radio shows and stations that support independent music. So far we have links to the stations 247Enterprise.com and 247RockRadio.com then to the shows Independent State with Jonate and Figg, FiggZilla Music Live, Homegrown Show with Laurie Steele, Local 107.9 with Local Show Joe. We will soon be adding the links for Double Down Radio and Voice of Independence! Just because we have radio shows doesnt mean we stop supporting those that spin independent music!!!

A change to our jukebox system will also be taking place on March 1st. We will start streaming 247RockRadio.com all day, every day. Just another reason to submit your music! The site is registered with BMI so bands will get royalties for your spins if registered.

Dizzylilacs (rock/indie) - After kicking Vegas' ass, the band went back home to begin their Cat Club Saturday resodency. Catch them live all February every Saturday night on the Sunset Strip! New music is being written and new merch is on the way. Catch them back in Vegas on the 22nd of February when they play the Blue Martini for Vegas Rocks! Magazine night. I was recently toying with the idea of having a weekly podcast highlighting our featured bands and the bands of our online community. Well as it turns out, we might have stumbled upon the reuniting of Jonate and Figgalicious.... Stay Tuned.

NEWS:

A new winner has been crowned Band of the Month - FOR THE FIGHT! They narrowly beat out In Shadows Embrace and Imagine Dragons to grab the deciding votes. Remember you can vote once a day EVERY day for the band you think deserves the right to be called Band of the Month. This month we have Gerbils v2.0, Leiana and The Marquees battling it out and the polls are open!

NEWS:

Please welcome CONTROL THE CHAOS to our family of bands! They will be apart of our featured bands along with the other bands teaming up with us and Deppitt Ink. If you are not familiar with this band, you will be. The group is led by Itchy Metal Entertainment and has been setting this city ablaze with great work ethic, a solid developing sound and a hunger to succeed. Looks like even adults in Sin City act like kids. The new all ages venue Area 702 Skatepark has been shut down. Its a shame. I heard a rumor, and if its true, its pathedic that they cant handle the competition. 2.5 MILLION PEOPLE IN LAS VEGAS!!?!?! Why cant we all succeed?? I would love to meet someone who owned a bar or venue that actually understood what we friggin do to get people into your SHITTY VENUES!!!! Then to have to deal with all these owner/managers totally screw over the bands, promoters and fans JUST TO MAKE A BUCK, makes me puke. But then there are bands who bring only 10 people to shows and blame everyone else because they dont promote themselves.... Dang what a cluster of hairy poop! Then promoters who actually do good work, get a bad wrap cause those bands with no fans or work ethic cant sell a friggin ticket, who then talk a bunch of crap throughout our scene because you could only sell 15 tickets! IF YOUR BAND ISNT BRINGING IN 50 PEOPLE A SHOW.... SHUT THE F*#$ UP!! IF YOUR VENUE DOESNT ADVERTISE YOUR LOCAL SHOWS AND THEN PAY YOUR STAFF OFF THE DOOR..... F*&% YOU!!! IF YOU ARE A PROMOTER FROM ANOTHER STATE AND USE OUR BANDS TO FUND YOUR GROUP TO COME HERE BY CHARGING $10-$15 for a LOCAL SHOW..... EAT IT!!! IF YOUR BAND PLAYS COVER SONGS AT A BATTLE OF THE BANDS.... LEARN TO WRITE YOUR OWN MUSIC!!! Ok Im done... for now... Will the real venue owners, bands and promoters please stand up? You are needed on the battlefield.

Recording, Touring and more are being worked out for the new year as well, so be ready!

Old Man Syndrome (hard rock) - Only a few songs need Vocals and the mastering can begin! Tom Parham at Hit Track Studios is recording the Hard Rock trio's follow up album to 2008's "Get Bent" which great local reviews and support. The yet to be named album should be released in the first half of the year. Dizzylilacs (rock/indie) - Is live this weekend at the Cat Club on the Sunset strip in Hollywood, CA. The band is also working on some new music for you guys for 2010. Vegas fans rejoice, the band will be back in town playing acoustically at the House of Blues Courtyard inside Mandalay Bay Casino in late January followed by a plugged-in set the following night at the new home for live music in Henderson, NV - Mocha Joes. In Las Vegas there is an all new ALL AGES venue! Area 702 Skate Park is kicking off with shows by In This Moment, The Vandals and more! They were originally scheduled at the Premier, but have sinced been moved over to the venue. We have the shows posted on our calendar, check it out now!

We have added new discussion topics recently in our FORUMS, and encourage you to post about bands, shows and cd releases to help our network of fans, bands and industry to see and hear new music! Dont forget you can also create GROUPS!

This year we will be celebrating our FIVE year anniversary! We plan on having a huge show to celebrate, and details will be coming out as we have them, expect the show later on in 2010.
